Welcome at the airport
2017 and 2018 : 90% are satisfied. Almost 40% see it as excellent .
The few dissatisfactions do not come under the reception itself (although there was a case where the host of the UTAT team was not present at the arrival of the competitor) but address the conditions of waiting for the shuttle (on the parking lot, in the sun).
The shuttles
2017 : 79% satisfied – 21% dissatisfied
2018: 83% satisfied - 17% dissatisfied
In 2017, the dissatisfaction concerns the lack of punctuality of the departure of the shuttles for Oukaïmenden. This is a difficult problem because this lack of punctuality comes from delays in the arrival of flights; waiting for people whose flights are delayed leads people whose flight was on time to wait!
In 2018, the shuttles depart on time regardless of any flight delays, as would be the case with a regular bus service. As a consequence, the satisfaction rate has further increased.
Welcome at Oukaïmenden
2017 : 89% satisfied
2018 : 95% satisfied
UTAT volunteers welcome competitors at Oukaïmenden to guide them to their tent or CAF room. The dissatisfactions noted in 2017 (insufficiently clear information on arrival) led to an improvement in reception and a very high rate of satisfaction in 2018.
Tent accomodation
2017 : 80% satisfied et 20% dissatisfied
2018 : 54% satisfied et 46% dissatisfied
The dissatisfactions come either from the too small number of sanitary facilities, or from the tents themselves, whose insulation leaves something to be desired for those who have not taken enough into account our warnings about the temperatures, close to zero, which can prevail at night. the plateau of Oukaïmenden.
2018 saw exceptional bad weather conditions (humidity, rain, wind) that made tent accommodation more uncomfortable; this led to a sharp increase in the number of dissatisfaction. In 2019, windproofing of the tents will be improved.
CAF accomodation
2017 : 86% satisfied
2018 : 74% disatisfied
The dissatisfactions relate to common living conditions: occupancy rate of the showers, noise, dormitories, etc. The CAF, although comfortable (the beds, mattresses are good), is not a five-star hotel …
Although still high, the satisfaction rate decreased between 2017 and 2018 without any clearly identified reason except for the impact of weather conditions on temperature (the CAF is not heated at this time of the year).
Ambiance at Oukaïmenden
2017 : Excellent for 54%, pleasant for 43% and bad for 4%
2018 : Excellent for85%, pleasant for 15% and bad for 0%
The atmosphere is good at Ouka! The conviviality, the sharing, the change of scenery are markers of the UTAT. The weather conditions of 2018, far from spoiling the atmosphere seem on the contrary to have doped it!
Meals
2017 : 91% satisfied- 9% dissatisfied.
2018 : 85% satisfied - 15% dissatisfied
The dissatisfactions mainly concern the lack of variety of dishes offered during the four days of the stay. It was a deliberate choice to provide meals corresponding to the appropriate inputs for a sporting activity.
Marking
2017 and 2018 : Excellent : 30% Fair : 61% Insufficient : 9%
Safety
2018: Excellent or Appropriate for 86%, insufficient pour 14%
The exceptionally difficult conditions of the UTAT 2018 led to a high drop-out rate on the 105km. Some non finishers then touched the evacuation difficulties: you have to walk back, at least in good part …
This situation led the organization to put in place an action plan in partnership with Mountain Medic to greatly improve the safety device from the UTAT 2019.
Welcome at the PC

2018 : Excellent : 62% Satisfying : 35% Not satisfying: : 3%
It is obviously a strong point!
The welcome, kindness and dedication of volunteers on mountain PCs is often emphasized.
Here again the weather conditions of 2018 have further highlighted the dedication of UTAT volunteers for whom it is also an adventure!
Medical Service
98% of competitors using the medical service are satisfied.
We have about twenty doctors, many state nurses, a team of physiotherapists, chiropodists and our partner Mountain Medic imports every year more than two tons of medical equipment for mountain PCs.

Yes : 89% in 2017, 85% in 2018!
One in ten is not satisfied. This seems mainly due to the fact that the infrastructures that we are able to put in place do not correspond to anything that can be found for example in the Alps. It can also happen that a competitor expects to meet the same conditions as for an Ultra Trail in Europe while the UTAT is a change of scenery, an adventure, a fidelity to the origins.
Given the weather conditions of 2018, we had feared that the rate of positive responses drops sharply, it was not. This shows that one does not come (only) to seek the good weather while coming to Morocco 🙂
