95% ARE SATISFIED WITH THEIR EXPERIENCE AT THE UTAT !
Presence at the airport
95% are satisfied (90% in 2017 and 2018). 45% consider it was excellent.
2019: 87% satisfied – 3% not satisfied
A clear increase compared to 2018 (83% satisfied – 17% not satisfied). We have not changed the set-up of the shuttle services, but we asked the participants to be very precise concerning the information given in the registration form.
Reception in Oukaïmenden
96% satisfied (2017 : 89% ,2018 : 95%)
The UTAT volunteers welcome the participants in Oukaïmeden and take them to their tents in the camping or to their dormitory at the CAF.

Has something been changed to achieve this increase? No, it’s mainly due to the fact that night temperatures where particularly high this year, just as they were particularly low in 2018. Furthermore, we did stress the fact that it is necessary to bring a sleeping bag made for negative night temperatures.
Accommodation at the CAF
82% satisfied (86% in 2018 and 74% in 2017)
The negative comments concerns nuisances due to living in a community: access to showers, noise, dormitories, etc. The CAF, though comfortable (new beds and mattresses) is not a 5-star hotel…, it’s the equivalent of a good mountain hut.
Ambiance in Oukaïmenden
Excellent for 72% of the French speaking who sent back the survey (47% for the English speaking), good for 29% and nobody found it bad (Excellent: 85% in 2018 and 54% in 2017). The ambiance at the UTAT is good or very good… This is not really thanks to the excursions and other activities organized, but more so the fact that all staying at the base camp (participants and those accompanying, the volunteers and our suppliers/partners) get together for 4 days to share the same adventure, live on the same premises and have their meals together.

The markings are correct (only 9% are not satisfied, which is too much), but needs to be improved. Particularly in the villages, on the trails no major problems. There are no security issues.
Security support at the PCs (Checkpoints)
2019: Excellent or Sufficient for 97% (86% in 2018)
Our new provider Mountain Medics is the reason for this improvement in 2019. Our mountain rescue set up is better, particularly in the more remote areas.
Service & welcome at the PC (checkpoints)
Excellent 76%, satisfying 22%, not satisfying 3%
(2018: 62% – 35% – 3% 2017: 59% – 33% – 7%)
The welcome, the kindness and the dedication of the volunteers at the PCs is often mentioned.
100% of the participants who asked for medical assistance were satisfied.
The medical team is made up of some twenty doctors, several nurses and a team of physios and podiatrists. Our supplier Mountain Medic bring over two tons of medical equipment to the PCs in the mountains.
Are you happy with your experience at the UTAT?
95 % say yes. This is more than during previous years.
Thus, one in twenty persons is not satisfied (but one in four amongst those who do not speak French). This seems mainly due to the fact that the context and the services are not the same as what you can find for instance in the Alps.
